Design Manifesto

Let's make the ordinary extraordinary; the normal, special.

Design is not just about buying or arranging beautiful furniture. Nor is it purely a visual experience. Design is a thought process. It's a skill. Ultimately, design is a tool to enhance our humanity—a frame for life.

People behave differently in different spaces. Design is as much about the aesthetic as it is about creating an environment that can transform a mood or mindset. How things make you feel are just as important as how they look. A well-designed space can satisfy the subconscious when everything is orchestrated beautifully. I want my clients to feel empowered in their surroundings, to have a sense of wellbeing in their environment.

Isabel Ladd

Having been born in Brazil, raised in Kentucky, and educated in design in Los Angeles, I have a unique and eclectic perspective that I bring to my work. My Brazilian roots have influenced my love of color and patterns. I love mixing and layering prints, textures and styles—mixing the old and the new, the antique and the modern.

I offer a full range of interior design services. Residential interiors, commercial set design and playrooms or kids’ interiors are among my specialties and favorite projects. I have two boys, Oliver and Theodore. They inspire me every day, and I can assure you, it is possible to have children and a beautifully styled home.

My husband, Field, is an art dealer at his family's Cross Gate Gallery in downtown Lexington. We share the love of art, and you’ll find that incorporating art is a common part of my designs. I often collaborate with Field in sourcing art, antiques, and one of a kind pieces.
